An elegant bronze sculpture of a seated Hermes. Inspired by the original found in the Villa of the Papyri at Herculaneum in 1758. This piece is a fine example of late 19th-century Grand Tour art – a period when wealthy European travelers collected classically inspired works as souvenirs of their travels. The sculpture stands on a marble and base 90 x 95mm.
