A restrike from the original 1580 engraving plate by the antiquarian Onofrio Panvino of Verona. The engraving depicts scenes from the Circus Maximus in Rome from a 3rd century marble relief, Palazzo Trinci, Foligno, Italy. Onofrio was a renowned Augustinian friar and historian, who served as librarian to Cardinal Alessandro Farnese.
